Zardari in the dock again

With an accountability court under the National Accountability Bureau reopening five references of corruption against former President Asif Ali Zardari, he is now required to make an appearance in court on October 29.
However, spokesperson for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Farhatullah Babar told The Hindu that this was a mere technicality and the principal accused in the cases had already been acquitted for lack of evidence in July 2011.
At that time Mr. Zardari enjoyed immunity as President and the judgment in his case could not be passed. It is yet to be decided whether Mr. Zardari will make an appearance or his lawyers can represent him in the court.
