MQM to take part in Punjab LB polls

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain announced on Friday that his party will take part in the local bodies (LB) elections in Punjab.
In a telephonic address to MQM supporters in Lahore and Multan, he urged the people of Punjab to take lead against feudalism and save Pakistan.
The MQM chief asked workers and officer bearers to fight against the feudal system and said: “The people of Punjab must come forward and play a role in eliminating the feudal system from society.”
Sharing the formula for success and progress, he said, “Pakistan can only move ahead if it has a strong educational and financial background.”
The MQM chief has in the past said that the people of Punjab had been supporting various political and religious parties which had so far failed to solve their problems.
He has also expressed in the past his confidence that the poor people of Punjab would play a key role in the banishment of feudalism by becoming part of the MQM’s vanguard in the province.
