A dry ice explosion in a bathroom at Los Angeles International Airport caused a two-hour delay in departing flights Sunday.
At about 7 pm Pacific Time, a bottle with dry ice inside exploded in a bathroom near LAX’s Terminal 2. According to local NBC reports, an airport worker heard the explosion from the tarmac and found the bottle inside a non-public restroom in a restricted area of the airport. No injuries were reported.
The LAPD bomb squad started an investigation, and has since handed it over to the FBI. No arrests have been made, and flights resumed after a two-hour delay.
