LAHORE
CHIEF Secretary Punjab Javed Aslam has directed the District Coordination Officers all over the province to ensure display of rate lists of essential items, particularly separate rates of vegetables and fruits, conspicuously in the shops.
He issued these instructions while addressing a meeting of the District Coordination Officers on Saturday.
He said that strict action should be taken against those who did not display the rate-lists issued by the market committees. The Chief Secretary directed that no compromise should be made on the quality of edible items and sale at fixed prices. He said that all necessary steps should be taken for ensuring the sale of essential items at fixed prices for providing relief to the people.
Javed Aslam, while directing the DCOs for effectively monitoring the ongoing anti-polio campaign in the province, said that a special survey should be conducted for getting public reaction about the performance of polio vaccination teams of the Health Department. He said that administering polio vaccine should be ensured to the children below the age of five years for protecting them from polio, and vaccination campaign should be accelerated in all districts. He directed the Health Department to take more result-oriented steps regarding the polio vaccination so that the target of making Pakistan polio-free country could be achieved.
